Offered is a great “AMERICA | V ON TO VICTORY” banner, dating to the World War II era.  The center of the banner includes images of George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.  An overprint of “LIBERTY” is positioned under Washington, an overprint of “JUSTICE” is positioned under Roosevelt, and an overprint of “EQUALITY” is positioned under Lincoln.  Their images are surrounded by a draped flag, all of which are printed in patriotic red, white, and blue colors.  This banner would have been proudly displayed in a window during WWII, similar to how a service flag would have been displayed.  The verbiage of the overprinting, the presidential images, and the colors combine to make a fantastic piece.    

Conservation Process: This banner was hand sewn to cotton fabric, and both were hand sewn to a mounting board.  To prevent the black dye in the cotton fabric from seeping into the banner, it was first washed in a standard wash and then in a dye setting wash.  The banner is positioned behind Optium Museum Acrylic.

Condition Report: This banner has some age appropriate staining.  In all other respects, it is in excellent condition and presents wonderfully.
