Over time, this annual event grew in scale and stature.  Rodeo events expanded to include bull riding, steer wrestling, and barrel racing, among others, drawing participants from all over the country and later from around the world.  The rodeo quickly became a central attraction, and the Cheyenne Frontier Days soon earned the title of the "World's Largest Outdoor Rodeo."

The Cheyenne Frontier Days offers more than just thrilling rodeo events.  It serves as a living testament to the history of the West.  The accompanying "Old Frontier Town" offers a step back in time, where attendees can experience firsthand the life of pioneers, gold prospectors, and cowboys.  Craftsmen demonstrate traditional skills, such as blacksmithing and leatherworking, while Native American dancers and storytellers share their rich heritage and traditions.

This event has also always been a hub for music and entertainment.  Over the years, it has seen performances from some of the biggest names in country music, further establishing its reputation as a major cultural event.

Conservation Process: The pennant was hand sewn to cotton fabric, and both were hand sewn to a mounting board.  To prevent the black dye in the cotton fabric from seeping into the pennant, it was first washed in a standard wash and then in a dye setting wash.  The pennant is positioned behind Optium Museum Acrylic.

Frame: This pennant is in a reclaimed wood frame.     

Condition Report: There are a few very small holes and tears.  There is some toning along the hoist stripe.  But generally, this pennant is in excellent condition and very attractive.
