Offered is a Martin Luther King Jr. banner, dating to 1968.  The verbiage “WE SHALL | OVERCOME” is printed at the top, and “DOCTOR | MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. | AMERICAN NEGRO | PUBLIC OPINION SERVICE” is printed at the bottom.  In the middle of the banner is an image of Dr. King’s face, which is surrounded by 1929 on one side and 1968 on the other side.  The verbiage of the overprinting, the image of Dr. King, and the colors combine to make for a fantastic piece.    

Conservation Process: This banner was hand sewn to cotton fabric, and both were hand sewn to a mounting board.  To prevent the black dye in the cotton fabric from seeping into the banner, it was first washed in a standard wash and then in a dye setting wash.  The banner is positioned behind Conservation Clear Acrylic (standard) or behind Optium Museum Acrylic (per request).

Frame: This offering is in our Medium Gold with Flat Profile Frame.  However, it can be reframed and would look great using any one of our Medium Frames, which are shown in the final image.  The pricing associated with the different framing options may vary.  Reframing of an offering may delay shipment by up to two weeks.   

Condition Report: This banner is in excellent condition and presents wonderfully.
